About Custodian Companies

A self-directed IRA is an IRA held by a trustee or custodian that permits investment in a broader set of assets than is permitted by most IRA custodians. Most IRA custodians are banks and broker-dealers that limit the holdings in IRA accounts to firm-approved stocks, bonds, mutual funds and CDs. While self-directed IRAs may offer investors access to an array of private investment opportunities that are not available through other IRA providers, investments in these kinds of assets may have unique risks that investors should consider. Those risks can include a lack of disclosure and liquidity – as well as the risk of fraud (please read the full disclaimer below).

With years of experience in the FX industry we have dealt with thousands of IRA and Trust accounts. When you open a Self-directed Forex account with BBFX our experienced staff will help you navigate the all of the confusion, clarify any questions about risks and expedite the process for you.

Our partnered US brokers are all NFA regulated and we only work with responsible custodial companies such as:

  • Advanta Trust
  • Equity Trust
  • Millennium Trust
  • Plus More

Benefits of IRA Investing

  • Roth IRA may never be taxed: With a Roth IRA you do not write off contributions going into the account, however, you are not taxed on the funds when you take qualifid distributions.

Important Disclaimer

BBFX is neither advising nor recommending clients to trade their retirement funds within the Forex market. BBFX is simply offering educated clients with a vehicle to trade their retirement funds within such a market after first considering the high level of risk involved. As always, BBFX advises clients trading within the Forex market to not invest money that they cannot afford to lose and as such, investing retirement funds may not be suitable for many investors. BBFX recommends that any client, especially those considering investing retirement funds, consult with their investment counselor, attorney or accountant as to the appropriateness of such an investment. Trading futures and foreign exchange (Forex) on margin is a challenging opportunity which carries a very high level of risk. The leveraged nature of Forex trading can result in market fluctuations that work against you as well as for you and as a result you may lose more than your initial investment and may be required to pay additional funds. Therefore, before deciding to participate you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience and risk appetite. Most importantly, do not invest money you cannot afford to lose. Consulting with your investment counselor, attorney or accountant as to the appropriateness of an investment in margin trading and leverage transaction products is recommended.
